There are hundreds upon hundreds of cheeses across the globe. The base ingredients to make cheese are the same everywhere that cheese is made, and it's an ancient ingredient that is prepared differently across cultures and continents.
However, factors like location, temperature, aging time, grazing material, among many others, have an effect on the final product's flavour, which brings about so many varieties to enjoy. Yay for cheese!
The texture of a cheese depends primarily on its exposure to mold, its moisture content and its age. For the sake of this quest we're grouping cheeses by broad texture categories: soft, semi-soft, firm, semi-hard, hard and blue.
